About Secret Progress

Secret Progress Music is a record label and production company founded to produce and publish various music ventures.

Prankstar, the label’s first act, is a modern blues rock band, incorporating elements of funk and other genres, played dozen of gigs in NYC, including the legendary and now-defunct CBGB’s, and was described by the Village Voice as a “toughened-up Dave Matthews Band”. The group went on hiatus in 2008 when the guitarists moved back to the midwest, but the door has not yet been closed on future material.

Lucky Cat is a solo alt-pop effort by the lead singer, bassist and songwriter of Prankstar, Michael Tuminello. The new release, The Breakdown Train, is an indietronica song cycle that blends rock, pop, funk and electronica.

About the secret progress name and logo
The cost of producing and distributing materials is rapidly shifting and undoing the world created by the industrial revolution. All kinds of creative endeavors – including music, but also work as wide-ranging as food production and fashion design – are moving from the hands of big companies to single people and small companies, out there burning the midnight oil.
